​Hi, I am Andrea Schiavio, thanks for visiting!

I am Senior Lecturer (aka Associate Professor) at the University of York, where I co-direct the Centre for Music Education and Human Flourishing. I am also PI of an ERC Synergy Grant (REM@KE), deputy editor of Musicae Scientiae, and past president of the European Society for the Cognitive Sciences of Music.

I want to know what music cognition is and how it works. To do so I combine empirical and theoretical research inspired by recent approaches in the cognitive sciences. ​For any question, or good idea, please contact me!
